Pump of the Week Review this week is the Eufy S1 Pro wearable breast pump and I gotta say…these might be the most comfortable, well thought out wearable pumps I’ve ever used!
Before we start, I want to go over some things. I am not a CLC or any sort of licensed professional. I am just a mom who was thrown into Exclusive Pumping at 8 weeks postpartum after major latching issues. Nursing was not an option for me and the only way for me to continue to breastfeed my son was to pump. So as of this publish date, I am 12 months in! I am pumping 4 times a day, I am a slight overproducer, a size 15mm flange, a small C cup, and my primary pumps are the Baby Buddha 2.0 and the Pumpables Genie Advanced. Something to keep in mind about pumping is that it is very personal. What might work for me might not work for you and vice versa. I am just sharing my honest review and opinion and do my best to present you with the facts along with my personal thoughts.
Thank you to Eufy for gifting me this pump to try!
Eufy S1 Pro + Heating Technology (without Charge Case) – $239.99
These are honestly the most well thought out wearable pumps I’ve ever used! They are light, easy to put together, and most importantly very quiet when on. These are the first pumps to boast a heating technology in the flanges themselves, you can easily control the pumps from an app using Eufy’s OptiRhythm technology for a more personalized pumping experience. Each pump has 5oz cup, a duck bill, a backflow protector, flange, a motor, and a cover. They are easy to put together and store in the stylish leather bag that is included. Along with your pumps, you will find flange inserts in sizes 17mm, 19mm, and 21mm, along with a nipple ruler so you can properly measure to find the best fit, a magnetic charge cord that has two magnetic charging connections, and easy to follow instructions.
Settings & Features
I didn’t think I needed an app to control pumps, but honestly while you’re out and about, quickly pulling out your phone without having to yank the collar of your shirt open or lift up your shirt to check your pumps is a luxury I am not sure I want to give up! You can sync your pumps to the same settings or if one girl needs a lil something different, each pump can operate independently.
This is also one of the only wearables I personally have that has the ability to adjust cycle (Speed) and vacuum (Intensity). There are 4 “Rhythms” you can choose from: Max, Standard, Gentle, Natural which offer different pre-programmed settings for expression and stimulation so you can set it and forget it.
You can adjust the heat and set a timer for how long it runs. The app does give a disclaimer that utilizing heat does increase power consumption around 15%-25%.
The app also links you to a Eufy support Facebook group which has been great to utilize if you need to troubleshoot or want to chat settings, etc.
Replacement Parts
You can purchase replacement parts on Amazon as well as directly from Eufy.
Both are priced the same so it just depends on where you prefer to order from! I personally ordered from Amazon during Black Friday and they showed up fairly quickly. If you are going to be using these often, make sure to set a reminder on your calendar to order new parts. Parts like the duck bills and backflow protectors should be replaced every 2-3 weeks for frequent/exclusive pumpers and every month for occasional pumpers. I like to set a reminder a few days before the month ends to order so they show up on the first of the following month!
Pumping on the Go
I find myself reaching for this pump more often than others because of how easy it is, how quiet the motors are, and how well it fits in my bra.
It fits into all of my pump bags and even comes with its own gorgeous leather bag to store it in.
I’ve pumped with it in the car, at church, at the aquarium, at dinner…it’s truly so easy to take with!
Issues
My only issue, currently, is output. This pump does have vibration, like the Spectra, which I personally do not respond well to. I am still playing with settings and don’t get the best output, but even still, I do bring this pump with as my supply isn’t as sensitive to one session being less output. I know that sounds so crazy!!! But I’ve been pumping for almost an entire year at this point and I am willing to sacrifice a little milk during one session if it means everything else is quiet and easy.
I’ve been reading through the support group and am going to try a few different things in regards to settings and will update this blog once I do!
Remember – pumping is personal. Just because I don’t respond well to this pump, doesn’t mean you won’t either. I know so many moms who respond so well to this pump and LOVE it!
I did also talk to another mom who uses these and she felt like she can’t get them to “stay put”. The material of the flange is a soft, buttery, silicone. It’s not like other wearables where there’s a little “stickiness” so I think these might move around a little more if you’re going to try and do stuff while wearing them. I would recommend the Davin & Adley Amelia bralette or cropped cami as I feel like this is the most secure bra, especially for wearables! You can use code THATMILLENNIALMOM for 10% off! She is running a Black Friday sale through all of November and my discount code stacks!
EDIT: I wrote this blog last week and planned on posting today (11/14) and need to update this! I decided to give these pumps one last try and switched out the flange inserts from my regular 15mm to the 17mm Eufy inserts that came with the pump because I was suspicious that the random off brand inserts I was using weren’t fitting in the flange properly because I would finish pumping and my nipples wouldn’t look like I had just pumped…they seemed unstimulated (?) for lack of a better word.
I also switched from Standard to Gentle and the output was literally double. I pumped a total of 3oz on Tuesday 11/12 and then pumped over 6oz today 11/14.
This is a very good lesson in tweaking small things! Also a reminder that not all flange inserts are created equally.
Overall Thoughts
Overall, I think this is a really well designed, well thought out pump. I’d definitely put it in the luxury category due to price and all the creature comforts. Now that I have my output sorted out, this is probably going to be the pump that I use until the very end because of how comfortable and easy it is!
I personally do not have the charging case but have heard that it’s a very nice added bonus, especially for working moms, to just put your pumps in the case and not worry about charging them.
This pump will definitely be an investment just based on price point but with all the different features, I think this is definitely one to keep on your list!
