The New Mom Resource

hi, i’m caitlin

But all of my friends call me Cait. I started a little “mom” page on Instagram when I was 4 months postpartum and dealing with Postpartum Depression (PPD) and Postpartum Anxiety (PPA), topped off with some Postpartum OCD (PPOCD).

I needed an outlet and turned to content creation and have been sharing my postpartum journey being an exclusive pumper and full time corporate girlie turned stay at home mom – after spending my entire pregnancy saying that could never be me.

I started reaching out to the Experienced Moms of the internet when I needed some help with things and they have shared and empathized with me along the way. Then other moms started asking if I could ask questions for them and it evolved into this really beautiful community of moms sharing their knowledge and experiences. I leverage my trusted sources in Lactation and Childhood Behavior and Development and share your questions with them to get you answers you might not be able to find otherwise!

my story

After spending 3 years trying to conceive, which resulted in 4 failed IUIs, 2 chemical pregnancies, and one round of IVF, I found myself pregnant! My husband and I were over the moon and felt so blessed God finally answered prayers.

We soon found ourselves praying again after I started vomiting around 8 weeks. And then didn’t stop for another 14. I was in and out of the ER, hooked up to IVs and doing whatever I could to survive and had been diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG). This impacts 1-3% of pregnancies (per the HER Foundation).

Although my HG mostly resolved around 22 weeks, I was closely monitored for my entire pregnancy due to IVF putting me in the high risk category and went to twice weekly monitoring appointments. I also found myself with severe heart burn, carpal tunnel, swelling, and severe congestion that lasted my entire pregnancy.

My waters spontaneously broke at 37W5D after 10 days of prodromal labor and my son was delivered 3 hours and 47 minutes after my water broke! It was a beautiful but fast and furious delivery after showing up at the hospital 8cm dilated and in transition. I still sat for that epidural though!

After painful latching, weeks of appointments with an LC, oral tie revisions, chiropractic appointments, I had to turn to Exclusive Pumping (EP) when my son was 8 weeks and have made it a year pumping! I have been sharing my favorite pumps, tips, and tricks I have learned along the way and am currently sharing my weaning journey on Instagram.

I hope to foster a community of moms who are looking to learn and lean on each other, as well as need a safe spot to vent when things are tough and if that is you, I am so happy you are hear! This is your village 🥰
